Public Forums

As part of the interview process, you are invited to a public forum where the candidates will discuss the topic: "Global Opportunities and Challenges: Next Steps for the Internationalization of UC Davis” - the public forums will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.  

The public forums will be held in the Community Room, International House Davis, 10 College Park and are scheduled as follows:

Candidate A
Thursday, April 9
3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Candidate B
Monday, April 13
2:00 – 3:30 p.m. 

Candidate C
Wednesday, April 22
3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Candidate CVs are posted 48 hours in advance of their interview. To protect the confidentiality of the candidates, you are required to enter your Kerberos ID and password in order to access the candidate names, CVs and audio recordings. The Vice Provost for Global Affairs reports directly to Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Hexter and is a key member of the Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor’s leadership team. The mission of the Vice Provost—Global Affairs (VP-GA) is to provide leadership for the university’s endeavors internationally. This will include supporting and enhancing opportunities for international students (undergraduate and graduate), post-doctoral fellows, faculty, staff, and visiting scholars on our campus as well as students, staff, and faculty as they study and work abroad. The VP-GA will also coordinate and facilitate research and educational partnerships with international universities, research institutions around the world, governments, non-profit and non-governmental organizations at the institutional level. S/he will develop and implement a global UC Davis strategy for international engagement.

The recruitment advisory committee continues to be chaired by Jeff Gibeling, Vice Provost – Graduate Education and Dean – Graduate Studies and co-chaired by Tonya Fancher, Associate Professor, Internal Medicine, in the Division of General Medicine – School of Medicine. The recruitment advisory committee is broadly representative of the UC Davis community, including members of the faculty, staff and students.

The successful candidate for this position will have a clear and compelling vision for the development and implementation of UC Davis’ international engagement strategy. They will also have outstanding administrative leadership and management skills with a demonstrated record of success in a large and multifaceted organization. The successful candidate will be an able and experienced manager and leader capable of motivating diverse teams of employees with the skills and talent to develop and execute plans to enhance the overall success of international education and engagement.
