Chancellor’s Statement: Recent Shootings of Palestinian Students in Vermont
My heart goes out to the three Palestinian college students who were shot in Burlington, Vermont over Thanksgiving weekend in what's being investigated as a hate crime. We wish those students a full recovery and extend our support to their families, friends and communities of their respective universities.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, be heard, and be free from being targeted because of their ethnic background or where they were born. Every human being has a right to live and thrive.
The ongoing tragedies at home and globally continue to impact our communities. I encourage everyone to take advantage of resources to ensure that you are taking care of yourself and one another.
