Happy Holidays from Chancellor May
Dear Friends,
During this holiday season, I can’t help but reflect on the critical impact of higher education on our communities near and far. Together, we have fostered generations of researchers, leaders and innovators who tackle pressing societal challenges and reveal how we are all connected. Federal funding plays a significant role in bringing this research to life.
At UC Davis, federal investment powers groundbreaking discoveries that improve lives and expand knowledge. Our effort to develop a brain-computer interface that allows individuals with ALS to communicate is just one of many achievements that showcase the incredible value of our nation’s higher education system. It also highlights the essential role of federal funding in turning innovative ideas into reality and advancing American leadership.
As leaders and supporters of higher education, we share a commitment to making a positive difference for the common good. That’s the power of who we are and what we do.
In the coming year and beyond, let’s continue to support research at universities like ours to ensure that we keep saving lives, feeding the world and strengthening our communities.
From my family to yours, happy holidays.
