With the door of partnership swung wide open, it’s much easier to see a bright future among UC Davis, the city of Davis and Yolo County.

Happy New Year! I’ve been reflecting on the milestones UC Davis reached during 2018...One of the things I’m most excited about is our university becoming a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution.

The smoky days of mid-November were unlike anything UC Davis had experienced.

You become an Aggie Hero through your everyday actions and words.

With the new academic year well underway, I wake up every morning anxious to take on the new day.

Just like the classic TV theme to “The Jeffersons” says, “We’re moving on up!”

What I’ve learned in my first year is that Davis residents care deeply about their community and want to see UC Davis and its chancellor be successful.

The idea of the “starving student” might be a longstanding archetype about the sacrifices made in higher education. But, I say it’s time to end this notion now.
