Office of Information and Digital Strategy

About the Office

The Office of Information and Digital Strategy provides enterprise-wide technology leadership across UC Davis and UC Davis Health. The office is charged with developing a unified digital vision for the institution, one that serves the full breadth of UC Davis' academic, research, administrative and clinical missions.

The office serves as the connective tissue between UC Davis' many technology organizations, ensuring that IT investments are coordinated, strategically aligned and accountable to the university's core priorities. It also represents UC Davis within the broader UC system, ensuring that campus and health system initiatives are coordinated with systemwide goals and the UC Office of the President.

The Office of Information and Digital Strategy is led by the Chief Information and Digital Strategy Executive, who reports directly to the Chancellor.

Mission and Priorities

Our mission is to advance UC Davis' institutional goals through strategic, coordinated and responsible use of technology — fostering innovation, ensuring security, and building the digital infrastructure that enables world-class teaching, research and care.

We are currently advancing four foundational priorities:

Integrated IT Strategic Planning

Developing a comprehensive, forward-looking technology strategy that reflects the needs and ambitions of UC Davis and UC Davis Health, built with broad input from the campus community.

Digital Risk Governance Frameworks

Establishing frameworks to identify, manage and mitigate digital risk across the enterprise, including cybersecurity, data privacy, AI ethics and vendor and third-party risk.

IT Governance Alignment

Coordinating governance structures across the Davis campus and the health system to enable better decision-making, clearer accountability and more effective stewardship of technology resources.

Cross-Campus Partnerships

Building collaborative relationships with UC system partners, peer institutions, industry leaders and internal stakeholders to amplify UC Davis's digital capabilities and mission impact.
